• Who is Jesus? - According to Jesus!

No other person has impacted human history like Jesus. No other person has lived like Jesus, made claims like Jesus or performed miracles like Jesus. No other person has been followed in the past or present like Jesus. No other person has been more misunderstood than Jesus! This begs the questions, who is Jesus really?

Documentaries on the History Channel, news anchors, televangelists, preachers, politicians, self-proclaimed prophets, your parents, your crazy uncle, all have their theories and opinions. How are we supposed to make sense of it all?

This course will be an Investigation of Jesus, letting Jesus interpret Himself and scripture. Too often our understanding of Jesus comes from the doctrine and theology that we were taught and Christians, all reading the same Bible, come up with so many differing and conflicting views of Jesus and what the will of God is. So who is Jesus really?

    This course will...

    • Let Jesus interpret Scripture and Himself.
    • Explore the Mind, Method, Manner and Ministry of Jesus.
    • Allow you to see the Bible as an inspired dialogue between God talking and Man talking (and sometimes man contradicting what God has said).
    • Let Jesus interpret God's Ways.
    • Disarm Scripture and learn to read the Bible like Jesus did.
    • Help you see the "Word of God" is a person, not a manuscript.
    • Help you see that the Bible is a record of Truth, but not the source of truth...Jesus is!
    • Help you see that the central theme of the Bible is Jesus!
    • Show you the Mercy and Compassion of Jesus.
This course could be radical to your thinking and life changing to your understanding of Jesus!

Jesus asked the question "Who do you say I am?" Matthew 16:13

This course will help you answer that question!

Our textbook for the course is The Bible. We use the Bible - an ancient text, a living text - and we try to enter it, not only to decipher it, but to penetrate it, to become part of it, similar to the way every student becomes part of a teacher's texture. We approach the Bible with fervor and passion as each page is unique. We see history in it. We see revealed truth in it. We see in it human folly as much as Divine Inspiration. Wherever you open it, any page, you know that you are in the presence of something that exists nowhere else.

Of all the books of the Bible, none has fired the Western imagination more than John's Apocalypse. The Book of Revelation, however, is a revelation of Jesus Christ. It shows the totality of Jesus Christ: his mission and ministry, his death and resurrection, his living lordship, and his coming again. It is an explanation and proclamation of the gospel, a portrayal of the church and instruction in Christian discipleship...
